CMU Art Museum with the Embassy of Israel is organising an exhibition of the works of photographer Leonid Padrul, entitled ‘The Shadow of Jerusalem’. This exhibition portrays the uniqueness of Israel with a magical magnetic power. The opening will be held on 14th August at 6 p.m. on the 1st floor of exhibition hall. Admission is free of charge.

ISF and Classic Touch present Shangri-La Concert Series - La Bonne Chanson: an evening of French music at the Shangri-La Recital Hall. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 8 p.m. Tickets for the concert are 200 baht each, 100 baht for students, concert and dinner tickets are 550 baht and 450 baht for students.

On August 19 the first Mayor Bowling Competition will start at the Tawan Bowling Centre. It is open to a maximum of 20 teams of 5 players. The teams will play for 6 months on a league basis and will play for the Mayoral Bowling Trophy with a top prize of 10,000 baht, which Dr Duetemduang na Chiengmai will present to the winners. Application fees are 3,000 baht per team and will play every Tuesday at 7.30pm, 3 games, at a cost of 450 baht. Money raised from this competition will go to His Majesty The King’s Foundation. Tree Planting with Citylife
On Sunday 6th July, more than 30 staff of Citylife magazine spearheaded a tree planting event in the hills of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park in Ban Mae Sa Mai. More than 250 volunteers from various organisations including Suthep-Pui National Park, FORRU (Chiang Mai University Forest Restoration Unit), Doi Suthep officers and villagers and students from Chiang Mai Technical College joined in the efforts. This tree planting project is a part of Citylife's Carbon Neutral efforts to tackle Global Warming. |
